My feelings about Haiti, Japan, Libya, etc..?

Yes, the earthquakes, the tsunami, the bombing, it's all terrible, sad, and devastating! I donate when ever I actually get some money. I feel thankful to have my family and house with me. But the thing is, I don't want this to effect my life! I was lucky enough to be in America while they were going through unbelievably horrible times, so can't I keep living my life without having the problems over there bother me?
