Why do conservatives deny the fact that if unions stopped existing, it wouldn't be long...?

Till corporations successfully lobbied governments to repeal worker rights laws, that wages would either decrease or stagnate, that turnover rates of staff would increase, health & safety laws repealed and unemployment would rise due to corporations lowering costs through m lay offs. Do you honestly live in some fantasy land where without support working people's interests would be put before huge profits?
