Birmingham New Street pub?

Some time ago I went out drinking in Birmingham for the first time. I got off the train at New St at around 11.30 in the morning and saw the pub in the train station had bouncers on the door, but I thought it might be the norm for pubs in birmingham to have bouncers that early. However none of the other pubs in the city centre seemed to have bouncers until 19:00 so I was wondering why does the pub in Birmingham New St station have bouncers on the door so early?
